Welcome! We have a photoshoot coming up!
I’m Stephanie, your photographer in Japan. I’ve been living here for over nine years, and I love capturing families in a natural, relaxed way.
My approach is easygoing and stress free, allowing you to simply be yourselves while I document genuine moments and real emotions.
This guide is here to help you prepare and know what to expect from your session. Let’s dive in.
What to expect?
I love capturing couples in a way that feels real, emotional, and completely authentic. During our session, I’ll guide you with prompts that encourage movement, laughter, and connection so you can focus on each other rather than the camera. Whether it’s walking hand in hand, sharing a quiet moment, or simply being yourselves, my goal is to help you create images that naturally tell your story in a way that feels true to you and the location we’re in.
weather
Soft overcast skies, a bit of morning mist, or golden hour light are always beautiful, but sometimes we get sun, rain, or a schedule that doesn’t match the perfect light.
Location
In the city, we work with the energy around us, navigating crowds and using streets creatively. Temples and shrines call for a bit more care with dress and noise, while gardens and parks give us freedom to move, play, and incorporate seasonal flowers.
Outfit + Color Guide
Spring/Summer
Soft neutrals and warm, natural tones. Cream, beige, light camel, soft browns, olive, navy, muted blues, and pastels and monochrome.
Choose breathable fabrics like linen, cotton, or light knits.
I recommend avoiding strong logos and very bright or neon colors so the focus stays on your connection.
For early mornings or breezy evenings, a light layer, such as a cardigan, blazer, or thin jacket, is perfect and easy to take on and off as the temperature changes.
And consider outfits in case of rain.
What to expect upon arrival?
- We’ll meet at the agreed meeting spot.
- We’ll take a few minutes to chat and get to know each other.
- I’ll give a few simple, gentle instructions and we’ll begin the shoot.
- We’ll move through a few nearby photo spots, stopping to capture different moments, angles, and compositions.
- The session is relaxed and flexible, focused on natural moments and genuine connection.
How to move and connect during your session?
Stay close to each other. Holding hands, hugging, or standing close creates an effortless, natural connection.
Keep moving. Walking together, slow turns, or a gentle sway helps you relax and keeps moments feeling fluid and real.
Interact, don’t pose. Talk to each other, laugh, whisper something sweet, or share a quiet moment instead of focusing on the camera.
Embrace the in between moments. The pauses, glances, and spontaneous smiles often become the most meaningful images.
Trust the guidance. I’ll offer simple prompts along the way, so you never have to wonder what to do next.
Natural smiles. For candid smiles, be playful and present with each other. For a few classic portraits, I’ll guide you so everything feels easy and relaxed.
If I get quiet, don’t worry I might be documenting a special moment or changing my angles. Remember you are doing great.
After your photoshoot
- You will receive a carefully curated gallery with the number of images included in your package | 1hr +60 photos | 2hr +100 photos

Final note
Your photoshoot is meant to be a relaxed and enjoyable experience. There’s no need to aim for perfection. Come as you are, focus on being together, and trust the process. I’ll take care of the rest while capturing natural moments and genuine connections you’ll be able to look back on for years to come.
